Payroll is one of the most sensitive processes for an organisation as it involves the financial data of the organisation. Thus while searching for a Payroll software one should be very careful.
Everyone organisation wants the best available payroll software for them, but since the market is flooded with such payroll software so it becomes a challenging to find the best among them.
There are 4 points which should be kept in mind which evaluating different payroll software.
Security - Since payroll involves the financial details of employees thus it is very important to select a secured software. There are lots of vendors who just have an SSL certificate and claim to have bank-level security, that is not correct and one should be careful while evaluating. Multi-level transport layered encryption and also storage layer encryption should be a minimum security framework.
Client support - The payroll vendor should have a strong support team, since payroll is a bit complex process thus assistance from the software vendor is needed in the initial stage of setup. Thus, technical support is one characteristic a good payroll software vendor must have.
User Experience - Payroll processing is little confusing and there are many softwares which makes the task even more confusing. With lots of unrelated options and scattered attributes, few vendors have software which tends to make the process inhumane. Instead, the system should be such, that even a non-technical person would be able to use easily.
Functionalities - Instead of going forward with just a payroll software you should look for a complete HRMS solution which includes payroll. Going forward with a single system for attendance and leave along with a collaborated Payroll would help you avoid integration limitations. 'One system for all HR aspect'
A little disclaimer here - I represent KEKA, a modern-day HR & Payroll solution.
Keka HR was born out of frustration from using shabby HR & Payroll solution. The Keka initiative was launched not only to provide an integrated and intuitive HR & Payroll solution but also to impart a gratifying user experience to its users.
Being one of the youngest software, Keka has made a huge dent in the marketplace with its emphasis on minute details and ravishing user interface.
