Hello Seniors,
If company provide medical allowances to employees then is it compulsory to contribute for ESIC ?
Note:
Total number of employees in company: 22(Twenty Two)
Number of Employees having gross salary less than 21000: 9(Nine).
Please revert ASAP.

If your establishment is located in the notified area, you have to register your establishment with ESIC though you are paying medical allowance to your employees and the number of employees whose wages below 21000 are 9. The only criterion on the basis of which an establishment can claim exemption fro ESI Act is when it provides better benefits than under the Act.
