Dear Members, I have a situation with my employer on Holiday list for 2018 in Bangalore. Most of the operations support to US and Few non-operations we have in Bangalore. So here as in HR of the company, I have recommended 10 statuary and National holidays. So here is the problem - Now operations are coming with combination of both US and India holidays 5 from India and Five from US from these 10 Holidays. And asking me to submit this to local Labor. Will Labor accept this. Or we will have any problem from labor. I am in very bad shape. If any one can help me on this I will be greatly thankful to them. I am open to discuss if its not clear.
Looking forward to hear back.
Thank you.

As a company operating from Bangalore,in this regard it is mandatory to follow
1. Karnataka Shops and Establishment Rules
2. The Karnataka Industrial Establishments (National and Festival Holidays) Act
I recommend to proceed with Holiday List as per India Holidays (with special relevance to National Holidays, Karnataka State Specific Holidays (Eg:- Kannada Rajyothsava), Regional Festivals etc. and include 5 US Holidays as Optional Holidays (many companies follow optional/restricted holidays, where a portion of employees go on holiday with prior approval)
For operational convenience, if you have to deploy a set of employees on Indian Holidays, you could manage by provisioning compensatory off days.

Dear Anamika, you have not furnished Proposed List of National & Festival Holidays for the year 2018? How to determine whether the same is as per applicable Act & Rules.
