Hi Friends, In my organisation, Online bank account access is restricted because of outside websites are not allowed. But I would like to give this access to all the employees who has bank account provided by the company. Now management is asking for valid reason - Why?

You wanted to provide access to the bank's website to which the salary credited but then you have not mentioned, which exactly is the bank. Anyway, you may quote the following reasons:
a) All the employees do not have computer or laptops in their home. Access to the bank's website will help them doing financial transaction(s) with ease.
b) While most of the banks have their own Apps, all employees may not be that conversant with these Apps. Secondly, these apps blocks Random Access Memory (RAM) of the mobile. Every employee does not have high-RAM mobile phones.
c) Reading general information about new rules or regulations is easier on the laptop or computer.
d) Banks' websites are not like websites of social media. Risk of spending time in unwanted activities is minimal. Employees will close the website once their job is over.

It is good initiative but it is also important to understand if it is really required to do so. Had anyone reach to you and asked for the special privilege ?. If yes then take it in writing and prepare a summary of requirement mentioned by the employees and put across to the management. Also, now a days in the age of digital era it is really not require to provide such privilege because 90% people has their mobile app in their phone and they can easily comply to the bank procedures and requirements at their own sweet time.

there is no any disadvantage of providing bank account access on office desktop. many times mobile app not work properly or battery / network issue may interrupt it.
