Why is it Compulsory for Employers to Organize Awareness Programs at regular Interval for Employees at Every Workplace
The Aim of Awareness Programs for Employees is as follows:
A. To sensitize the Employees at Every Workplace about the Fundamental Rights of Indians especially Women to
i) Equality before the Law;
ii) Life with Dignity and Honor;
iii) To practice and pursue any Profession in a Workplace Environment free from Sexual Harassment and earn her Livelihood and be Self-Reliant;
and
B) To sensitize the Employees about the provision that Sexual Harassment now Constitutes "Acts of Misconduct" within the meaning of Service Rules and or Standing Orders as applicable to every Establishment - Commercial or Industrial, both or Govt Rule framed by Central or the State Govt. and
C) To sanitize every Workplace from Sexual Harassment of Woman, whether employed or Not Employed and above all
D) Co-create a Safe and Secure Workplace Where No Woman Shall be Subjected to Sexual Harassment.
To achieve the Aim/objective of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act 2013;
Every Employer has Certain Enforceable Duties to discharge /perform as stated in Section-19 of the said Act 2013 which includes
i) Organize Awareness Programs for Employees at regular Interval and;
ii) File Annual Report on Action-Taken before Govt Authorities;
iii) Organize Programs for Internal Committee Members to a) Orient them about their 25 Duties, Responsibilities and Role entrusted by Law; and
iv) File Annual Report on Action-Taken before Govt. Authorities and above all,
v) At once start creating a Safe and Secure Workplace Environment free from Sexual Harassment.
Every Employer Benefits the most and Gains the most in terms of Business--Profits because when the Compliance is properly and faithfully done and not just On Paper Every Employee Focuses on giving 100% Contribution. Unhelpful Work Habits disappear, Restrictive Work Practices removed. Team Spirit flourishes Bonding with Workplace, the Work and the Co-Workers becomes Top most Priority.
