Hello everyone! Are interns who are paid stipend considered employees under shops and establishment act?
Gratuity and maternity is applicable for companies with 10 or more employees. Would interns be counted in that?

Is there designation intern in you shops act, yes. Also note that just because the employees are designated as interns, you can't pay wages at a lesser rate than minimum wages of skill level.
Please specify the duration of Internship.Does internship is given during the course of Study or after completion of Study?How many interns are there in your Establishment?What is the strength of permanent Employees? Which Location establishment functioning? Nature of Establishment?
