Hi

Job satisfaction for HR professional depends on the following:

a) The organization

b) The empowerment HR guy enjoys

d) Challenging assignments

c) The Interpersonal skills possessed by HR person.

If you work in an organization, where lots of importance is given for HR for implementing latest HR/people practices to retain and groom talent, then you will derive Job satisfaction as you execute these initiatives.

Secondly, it also depends on how much you are empowered to discharge your functions effectively. It is not only responsibility, authority should also be delegated to the HR person. It will bring job satisfaction automatically.

Challenging assignments like rationalizing the manpower, Automating HR processes, Institutionalizing Total Employee Involvement activities, implementing 360 degree feedback etc will enhance our job satisfaction level.

Last but not the least is Inter personal relationship we have with other processes. When we enjoy good rapport with our internal customers - both employees and other departments, we will start liking our role which will eventually enhance the job satisfaction.

Thanks & Regards

Thanks Mr. Pawan !
I had swings in my jobsatistafaction perception earlier but now I have learnt to perceive them better and consistantly. I feel better with my job and the organisation is also happy with my performance.
How about you?

Dear Sheetal,
My advise to you is to check out what your top mgmt wants you to implement. If you think that it is genuinely not in the interest of employees and your organisation, raise the matter with the top management, discuss it with them, probably by way of statistics. There may be some information of which your top management is not aware of and as a responsible HR member it becomes your responsibility to bring it to their notice. I'm sure top mgmt is open to discussion in the interest of the good of the organisation. Its the same the other way round i.e. the employees need to see the point of view of their top mgmt and YOU have show them that. Try it and I'm sure that you will not only feel more satisfied with your role but will also become a successful HR head!
All the best,

Dear Sheetal,
I have 15 plus experience in HR. The question of job satisfaction lies with oneself. As far as our profession is concerned, it is a supportive one to the management and we bridge the gap between the management and the employees.
Here what ever we do as a part of implementation of the management policies, there bound to be a criticism which we have to take it as a part of the game. Job satisfaction, if you dont get a proper response and support from the HOD or the subordinates within the department, then U wont have it. But as far as the response from other department employees, I would sujjest that U ignore it.
So long U have a satisfaction of completing the task given to U and fulfilling the commitments as part of HR person, there is nothing to worry.

HR is a very big area and a vast domain. Here, people with less than 5 years of experience are considered as armature. It is only after that, the HR is considered to be an expert in his or her domain.
I am yet to understand, what do you mean by “HR Job Satisfaction”. HR is not taken seriously because they have failed to reach the employees. They stay within their departments, cabin or cubical. If employees come to them with their issues then HR fails to address their concerns or handle in shabby manner. They make policies and procedures and then they themselves do not follow that.
Hence, there are many reasons why HR is NOT taken seriously in many companies by other departments and seniors.

HI Dear All,
In My company i am also facing the same problem. Top Management wants to go for cost deduction by decreasing the miscellaneous benefits of the employee which hurts me too much being a part of HR. And if I favour employees for this then it it becomes a question of my survival in the company.... Please suggest me what should I do...

Hi All !
You all would have read and learnt about the most famous lesson in history -
Krishna - Arjun Samvad:
"KarmanyevAdhikarAste Ma Faleshu Kadachana. Ma Karma Fal Heturbhu, Te SangotsAviKarmani."
One should perform duties and should not worry about the result.
Also the western thinkers say - "Ends justify the means."
I keep the above in my mind all the time and yes, I get job satisfaction.

Dear Sanjeev,
Thanks for your opinion & response but i am not at all agree with you on this point that if a person do not have less than 5 years experience ,he or she can not manage the HR polices well, i do believe that if you are hardworking & dedicated to your profile experience does not matter ,So after being an HR professional i can not agree on this point ,we are here to discuss about the matter of job satisfaction of HR profssional for whom ,who are honestly dedicated to their responsbility & than even some how for some reasons their top Management & employees do not get satisfied at the same time.
regards,
Sheetal. :)

Sheetal u quite young end still lot u have to go thru. With the time and Experience u will now there is a satisfaction. You see the systems of Hr, Go thru the details of performance appraisal, compensation and benefits. comptency mapping etc. I am sure if u go thru and try see where ur Organization stands in these fields. have words with your boss related to the above contents of HR, if u get positive signals from your boss related the subject then u can discuss and try to implement. Always try to maintain relationship with both from top level to lowest level of Employees in ur organization. The more u interact with lower cadre people u can feel the pulse of the employees u can know the better what they feel. They should come to such comfort level with u that they should discuss with u their any issues tickling in mind. Ur responsibility to solve it. as Hr u know that any one who works with out any tensions can give the best output. Once u start doing it, interact with Management or boss discuss the issues which can be good for the Mgt as well as Employee. At the time of appraisal also u can know abt the employee details as u are already aware of him/her. as u have a lot of interaction.

Sow don't get frustrated or feel or think obt job satisfaction. IF any further u wish to ask get in touch

Best wishes
