Hi, Equal remuneration Act is it applicable under CLRA Act. please advise.

Dear Suresh,
I think your question is whether the Equal Remuneration Act,1976 is applicable to an establishment to which the CLRA Act is applicable. If the establishment is a notified one u/s 1(3) of the ER Act,1976 and women workers are also employed therein along with men workers, the Act would be applicable.

Dear Mr Suresh Kumar, please note that if Equal remuneration Act is applicable to your Company, the same will be applicable to all Employees irrespective of whether they are Direct/Contract Employees.There should not be any discrimination in Salary of Male vis a vis female Employees including for Contract Employees performing similar Job.Please peruse Minimum Wages Notification applicable for your Company wherein Salary Payable is mentioned without referring to gender.
