Dear Bijay,
Professional Tax is collected by the state government. Therefore, you need to find out whether ex-servicepersons are exempted from the payment of the service tax by your state government. In the meanwhile, you may tell the exservicemen to provide the photocopy of the government policy letter on the said exemption.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
