Passing negative comments against particular race, religion, communities, language etc is considered as misconduct in few companies. It is explicitly mentioned as misconduct in the standing order itself. Looking through legal requirement apart let me add that disparaging remarks debase the culture of the company. Officer Circular _____/2017: Disparaging Remarks at the Workplace1. It has been observed with concern that few employees pass disparaging remarks based on caste, creed, religion, language, gender and so on. Administration of _____________ (name of your company) adheres to a doctrine of equality and rejects discrimination on any count. These negative remarks not just demotivate the recipient of these remarks but have potential to degenerate the culture of the company.
2. Employees of __________ (name of your company) are hereby advised to be heedful in their communication at the workplace even in the informal context also. Passing slur or usage of pejorative terms against any caste, creed, religion, language, gender etc will be considered as misconduct and severe disciplinary action will be initiated against the defaulters.
3. All HODs are to apprise their staff members about the circulation of this notice. If some staff member does not understand then they may interpret and ensure that they understand the essence of this circular.
