Medical bills exemption under i.t
Dear all can any one help and give me a solution for the below question as follows : 1. our company is paying medical allowance to employees which is factored in ctc itself amounting to rs.15000/ per annum. i have instructed my colleagues to produce the bills worth for rs. 15k to claim exemption. my colleague has presented the bill accordingly which includes her father and mother and brother bills. she is unmarried. and the point is her father is in the profession of doctor. he is also filing the return of income and claiming for exemption. her daughter who is working in our company also claims bills related to her father. my question is whether she can claim her father bills also. as only the dependant bills and herself can claim. in this case she is unmarried. her father is also working. in that case how can she claim her father bills. kindly explain and give suitable section to justify / substantiate my answer please. thanks. sreedar.
Medical allowance v/s medical reimbursement
Dear friends can you please advise the difference between these two components of salary medical allowance & medical reimbursement and how tax exemption can be claimed under each of these? can t employees claim for tax exemption to the extent of medical bills submitted if they are getting a fixed medical allowance every month? thanks & regards lakshmi

Hello in my salary structure sheet. there is rs. 1250 per month medical reimbursement part. i understand that to claim tax exemption i would need to submit receipts and bills. my question is if i do not submit bills or submit bills for less than rs. 1250 will i get the remaining amount or will i get nothing else except the bill part?

Hello all generally the cut off date for investment proofs in our company is january itself in that case say i don\'t have bills for rs.15000 in january i need to pay some tax because of this but i may get medical bills in febuary and march months.. can we submit it together when we have to file returns?? or we cant do anything those bills. pls clarify.. regards devi
