It is not mandatory for employees who are outside the purview of ESI coverage. However, in your best interest, it is better if you take appropriate policies covering all the risks involved, considering the nature of the activities carried out by your company.

It is always advisable to have an employee compensation policy. It can be discussed with any general insurance company representative. The policy will cover all likely employment injuries for the period, including death.
