What is the role of hr in annual performance review ?
Dear friends in our organization mnc the annual performance review of an employee is done by his/her immediate supervisor alongwith the business head. the hr plays no role in the review process except for facilitating the entire performance management process. my queries are : 1. does hr play no role in the performance review process by terms of rating and assessment ? 2. is hr just a facilitator and coordinator for this entire exercise ? 3. do all the companies follow the same process ? 4. if hr does play a role in this process how is it and what is it ? responses shall be highly appreciated. thanks jigar

Performance review
Dear seniors we are start up it firm. we are in process to benchmark for all our activities one by one. right now we are benchmarking our performance management system. for that we need to create one consolidated performance review sheet which will give us an idea about the performance of all the employees over 23 months. we are checking for programing testing skills team work achievement etc can you give me some points on how should i do it? if anyone can provide some sample sheet that will also be very helpful. thanks in advance.
Performance review - ranking
How "ranking" of employees against one another helps while making performance review. we have a problem in ranking of employees. our line management is not favourably inclined to do the "ranking" while top management insists for it. we have following performance review process: 1 setting performance goals performance factorscompetencies and development objectives at the beginning of financial year and reviewing employee performance quarterly; 2 at the time of annual review all employees are appraised on a scale of 15 and accordingly rating is done; however we now want the line managers to rank the employees against one another and recommend the rank order list . line managers advocate that employees performance shall be appraised based on performance objectives set at the beginning of the year which are mutually agreed and each employee shall independently rated. however ranking against one another is not based on an objective criteria as we benchmark a "best employee" and draw ranking. there are multiple reasons for an employee being "best" and the such multiple reasons cannot be same for all employees. all my line management team is strongly against ranking. please give your comments dn rao
Midterm performance review - advisable to use a scaled down version of the annual review form?
We follow an annual salary increment process where in the performance assessment happens in the month of march. but what we noticed over the last couple of years is that 1 yr is too long a period to wait for the review to happen & hence we want to do a focal point review at the end of 6 months so that we know where each of the employee stands in terms of his / her performance. however this review will not result in a immediate compensation change. could anyone help me with a template for the midterm / focal point review. would it be advisable to use a scaled down version of the annual review form?
Quarterly performance review
Hi hr gurus i am in a process of preparing performance review form. ours is an it staffing industry. im preparing quarterly performance review sheet. ive divide it into two parameteres which is business and values. business holds 70 and values 30. im attaching the file in whch ive written all the parameteres to be evaluated. im confused to hw to rank a person on all these parameteres. this is the first time m wrkng on performance management. so please guide me how to go bout it. please help me. its a learning phase for me. waiting for a good response. thanks anjali
