Hi All,
There is an issue in my company of groupism , people are making different teams and there is one boss of every team. and they are having so many grievances against each other. kindly, suggest me some ideas to take necessary actions to stop this. we cannot terminate anyone in current situation also. something has to be done amicably.

Dear Sakshi,

Though your post is short, overall I find failure leadership. It is leadership that is responsible to weaving a team into a thread. In your case the strands of the thread are not just loose but these are going astray as well. Therefore, the question arises is whether you have discussed this problem with the leadership? What is their take on this?

Your leadership might not have explained what kind of culture they want and what are their expectation from the managers of the company.

The groupism has become part of your organisation's culture and now changing the culture is going to be uphill task. This will happen with the consent of your leadership. You may sit with him/her and discuss how the insalubrious culture of the company is restraining the growth of the company. Some trainers may suggest you conducting training programmes on teamwork. However, be assured that the effect of these training effort will not last longer. Things could be back to square one in a week or fortnight.

Partially the problem of this kind arises because of the following reasons:

a) Lack of focus on performance

b) Lack of focus on results

c) lack of focus on accountability

d) Lack of measurement of the business ratios

Dear Sakshi,
As a simple solution, start conducting Team games in your organization on the weekends. They will start communicating, sharing with each other, knowing each other as individuals, which will have a positive effect on their behavior and work. It may not solve all the problems but will facilitate an open communication among them.
May be, it will be a first step for you to chalk out the future plan, as suggested above.

The worst thing to do while you're associated with an organisation is to form groups or join a group. Remember that it's only when you join a group that you end up messing up with the other, so quite obviously- of you stay away from groupism, you wold avoid annoying a lot of people.

Ya Dear Sakshiji.
ur presentation shows that the firm is at the blink of Disaster..
Reasons might be
1.Lenient view about the Employer as well as management....
2.weak administration.
3.There was noGrievance settlement committee formed by the employer with employees and management as members...4
4.there is no control or no punishments laid on violated dutymanual...
so tighten the discilinary procedures.
FormTion of grievance redressal forum to settle the problem s of workers...
all the best.
