Sir, kindly intimate whether the unit/establishment in respect of which you have raised the issue is a factory doing manufacturing work or the said unit is one of establishment like shop, hotel, restaurant etc. etc. In other words, what type of activities in your establishment is carried on in said unit ?

ESI officials will look into the contract employees (though they are in other company rolls) like house keeping staff, security etc.
The total if it crosses 20 then ESI becomes mandatory.
Another point, if employee count is more than 20 but even if one person is below 21000 then registration and payment of ESI becomes necessary.

You want to register or see way for exempton. Better to register and comply being the growing organization and this being welfare legislation to benefit employees.

Hi Mr. Manoj,
ESIC is mandatory if the salary is below or equal 21000 & if your company employee count is 19 or more. Also, refer the link for more. https://www.stacowiki.in/en/acts/st-...rance-act1948/
