As long as your Company exists, the question of surrendering your ESI Registration does not arise. Please submit Manual Nil Half Yearly return to ESI Branch Office concerned without fail.ESI Contribution is not payable in respect of your Direct & indirect Employees provided their Gross Salary is above the present wage ceiling of Rs21,000/- and above. If there is increase in ESI Wage ceiling, then remit contributions. If your Establishment is closed permanently, then you can surrender ESI Registration.

Hello Friends,
Please give me advice on the following
Background - I had closed my business back in 2014. But had not applied for cancellation of my ESIC Cancellation.
And Now In march, 2019 I have received a notice stating that i have defaulted in payment of ESIC from Feb 2014 upto Jan 2019 and the default amount calculated by the department amounts to Rs. 6,00,000/- I have no idea as to what need to be done now from my side to get this cleared and also i need to give reasoning to the department before 17/04/2019,
So anyone who knows about the solution please do reply. I would be very grateful.
Thanking You in Advance
:-)
