Hello friends, I am workinga s HR in software company. one of our employee marriage is there. How many days he can awail for leave?Please help me

There is no hard and fast rule for it but usually we give 10days leave if its a local marriage and 14 days if the employee's marriage is being held in some other city

Hi there...
U need to consider ur leave policy.....n u must be knowing that u have marriage leaves there or not other than ELs n CLs.....if u have marriage leaves (generally it is 7 days) then the person can avail the same and can combine it with ELs.....
If u dont have marriage leaves separately then u can tell the person to avail ELs.....allocated to him....

I was not aware that you wanted to know whether marriage leaves to considered as earnned leaves or casual leaves?
First of all only a confirmed employee is entitled to a paid leave for marriage in our oraganisation for all other employees it is a leave without pay
It is considered as an earned leave but then again its under the discretion of the management to grant them a paid leave or not in case they dont have a sufficient leave balance (since under normal circumstances an employee applies for a marriage leave only once in a lifetime).It also depends on the kind of project pressure the employee is having.
What I wanted to point out is that the no of leaves one needs for marriage differs from employee to employee the max being 10days(for local marriage) and 14days for outstation candidates

hi,
The leave policy varies from company to company so first of all u hav to check whether ur company policy has any allotment for marriage leaves or not, whether the emplyee is confirmed or not. otherwise the person can avail his/ her CL/ML/EL leaves as entiltled to him.

Ask them how much leave they want,, then deduct the leaves from
his earned leave quota, + Cl + SL..
and if there is any balance make it LOP...simple...
for eg he needs 30 days leave
and has EL 20 CL. 5 and SL 3 then make 2 days LOP,,

Dear All,
First of all i think any compnay shouldn't have any problem with their employees take marriage leave upto 30 days.... obviously we can;t restrict thier plans for 7 days 14 days,,,etc,,,etc............
Irrespective of his EL,CLs.. company can appove, their leaves as long as employees are ready to pay LOP....
In my company most of them take 30 days leave for their wedding. infact we even give them 5000 cash as their wedding gift...
