Dear Seniors, Kindly tell me what are the rights of employees in case a employer shut down start up or lays off few emplyees because of cost cutting. With Regards

2. I hope you are using the term laid off in its legal term as used in Industrial Disputes Act, or you mean retrenchment (termination).
3. What is the level and number of these employees.
4. To understand things properly I would recommend that you read Industrial Disputes Act chapter VA & VB.

Sorry mis- spelled, yes I am talking about laid off. company is non profit organisation (NPO), there were total 9 people and now 5 people are chosen for laid off.
