Hi all,

Can you help in the calculation of Diwali bonus? What are the minimum and maximum limits for this? Suppose my basic salary is 8500. How much will I get as a Diwali bonus? I am not receiving any DA, only allowances.

Thank you.

In India, the Diwali bonus is typically calculated based on the employee's basic salary. To calculate your Diwali bonus without considering Dearness Allowance (DA), you can follow these steps:

1. Understand the Formula: The Diwali bonus is usually a percentage of the basic salary.
2. Determine the Percentage: The percentage for the Diwali bonus can vary by company or be specified in labor laws. It's common for this percentage to range from 8.33% to 20% of the basic salary.
3. Calculate the Bonus: In your case, with a basic salary of 8500 and no DA, you would calculate the bonus amount by applying the percentage to your basic salary.
4. Example Calculation: If the bonus percentage is 10%, you would calculate 10% of 8500, which is 850. Therefore, your Diwali bonus would be 850.

It's important to note that the minimum and maximum limits for Diwali bonuses can be influenced by company policies, employment contracts, or industry standards. Make sure to refer to your organization's specific guidelines or relevant labor laws for precise details on bonus calculations and limits.
