Hello Everyone, I am currently on maternity break and not working anywhere. Earlier I was working as HR manager in a private company for five years. Currently I have an offer to work as HR Consultant and set up an HR domain in a small agency. I wish to take up this opportunity. But I need guidance. How should I calculate my professional charges for this project. The agency would also like me to implement HR practices after writing all the policies and formats for them. Please suggest me how should I arrive on my professional charges and also on payment terms.

Hello madam,
The work in nature does not call for any full day assignment. So, you can very well work from home and if need be you can visit or go to have meetings.
Your can bill the company on project basis. Suppose you have to prepare HR Policy Manual.For this you will require peer company's data, survey reports of nearby industries ,data analysis,preparation of report, discussion and approvals of Director. For this assignment your professional charges should be approx.Rs. 100 K - 150 K .Logistics involved will be extra such as Travel, Lodging and boarding at actual.

Opening which you got is in a consultant company (Manpower/Statutory compliance) or in an organisation. You may ask for fee based on the services rendered by you in lump sum as agreed by you and the firm which is engaging you.
