Hi,

I am looking for some ideas on how to make the T&D department a more fun, valuable learning department in an organization. In my company, the online website for training is available, but I want to create an environment where face-to-face training is more acknowledged. I believe training should be a fun way of learning instead of a formal way of completing yearly tasks to attend training.

Looking forward to valuable suggestions.

Thanks

With more than a decade and a half in the training field and experience in conducting training across various verticals, I strongly recommend that you shift your focus. Instead of prioritizing innovative methods, the primary goal of employee training should be its ROI. As long as this objective is met, whether the training methods are innovative or traditional becomes immaterial.

Common Issues in Training Focus

One issue with many training professionals is their emphasis solely on the delivery of the training sessions or activities within the program. The second focal point, as you have mentioned, tends to be meeting the training calendar deadlines. However, this misplaced focus often leads to the oversight of measuring ROI, which is the essence of effective training. Their lack of business acumen prevents them from being on par with counterparts in finance, marketing, and other functions.

Title Suggestion for Your Post

In light of this, I suggest revising the title of your post to "Innovative Training Methods to Measure ROI." Demonstrating the ability to build a solid business case around the ROI of training could significantly enhance your credibility with the CEO.

Thanks,
