Dear All

Greetings.

I am posting this topic to get our members views on the social responsibility of business.

During my visit to Bangalore, I observed that lot of Public toilets opened by Infosys foundation as many as 500 in the city itself to take care of the nature calls of public. Further this foundation extending their charity work in educating to rural children, opening of libraries in villages and also they donated a hefty sum to Cancer Hospital in Chennai to buy a sophisticated medical apparatus for detecting cancer at early stages. This foundation founded by the noble souls of Pioneer IT Company of our country taking care of social responsibility of business in its true sense.

But compare to Bangalore, Growth of IT Industry in Chennai is on the tremendous and OMNI buses were choking the roads and development on IT Sector is observed in manifold. But in Chennai still the local corporation do not have a plan to construct public toilets and other amenities even in a busy road like Mount road, where you cannot find a toilet to attend the nature calls.

I sincerely request our august members of Chennai to raise up and express their ideas and suggestions to tide over this crisis.

When the Government fails to implement the sanitation, let our IT companies at Chennai can set as a role model as like Infosys in expressing their social responsibility to our brothers and sisters of this city.

With regards

Hi Trisha,
Thats a good topic to start. Companies indulging in these social activities get their brand build among the society.
Hope the Companies who can afford to do such social welfare (which involves some good money) to come out of their confinement in Chennai and express their social responsibility.
This is just a small flame whe have started but i hope this builds as a big fire in the minds of the key decision makers of the companies who browse this site.

Dear Ragav Kudos to you. As told by you, this fire has to happen immediately and all our IT Conglomerates has to show their responsibility as a whole to this city. With regards Trisha
Dear Trisha,
We have just striked the match give some time for the fire to catch up the hearts 8) . Let it spread across and engulf.
Wait for some time and you will reap the harvest. :)

Hi Friend,
It great to see your willingness on our society. But, without our government support none of the charity/companies/ any organization can't do any individual step on these activity. Don't compare our Govt. with any other state government. Suppose,If any of the IT company, chennai approach govt. for doing some useful things to this society. First, Govt. demand us to give PM doantion fund/CM donation fund. Finally, money doesn't reach to people , it directly goes to their assets.
As you aware about Tsunami. Lots of people loss their property and invaluable life. Many donation came from all over world. Did u feel all the donation fund , goes directly to tsunami affected people/family?
Trisha, ask yourself? where u r?
Good one!!! but, no answer ... until, govt takes initiative.

Dear Saravana
Thank a lot for your observation. But as a educated mass we expect the Govt to provide certain basic amenities to the people which enshrined in our constitution. This govt raising other fares like bus fare based on other states rates but why not they take sanitation as the same way.
This city is a wonderful city unless we cry and get our facilities.
Expects more contribution to our forum from you
