By the way of introduction, I am Mohammed Bilal Ahmed, currently pursuing MBA. My UG qualification is Bcom Honours in Finance and Investments.
I have work experience of 2 years and 4 months in the audit division (EY). I am currently confused between two specializations (i.e. Finance and HR)
I am good at both these subjects and also carry work experience in the field of finance. However, i have been interested and passionate about HR since my UG days. But due to lack of growth opportunities, am really confused between choosing HR over finance.

If you are so much passionate about HR and find your self suitable in HR trade then with out any hesitation you should go ahead with HR, as having an in side pain life long that i should have tried my favorite subject earlier will not be good for you firstly, and secondly you can not give your 100 % to your job if you interest/desire and instinct is not supporting you. And as far as growth prospect counts if you have confidence, knowledge, zeal you can survive and do best in any trade you wish..

Almost all the Organisations prefer Chartered accountants for managing their finance departments. Investment banking companies and banks do consider MBA finance. But, they prefer the MBA's from the top 10 management institutes. While MBA in HR has a wider canvas in terms of jobs. Since you are so passionate about HR, it would be a better choice, if you are not doing MBA from a top 10 institute. But, if you are studying n a top 10 institute, I would suggest you to go in for counseling with your career counsellor n your institute and come to a decision. You could also fill up the Paul J Myer's personal planning book. That will help you to introspect deeply and show you the path as to how to set your career and personal objectives of life in a planned manner.

As Per my knowledge the finance field will have more growth when compared to HR.If you can work comfortably in Finance then I suggest you to continue in finance itself because the job satisfaction is nothing but good salary.
