Dear Seniors,
Please help me on this query, is there any kind of acknowledgement should we take from employees while paying maternity benefit payment??
if there is nothing as such what should be the proof from HR side that we paid liable amount to the subject.

Hi Ganijohn,
How do you generally pay salaries in your company. I believe you pay through bank and that itself is a proof. Even if you make the payment by cash, you would definitely collect a voucher for that. What more are you looking at?

Get a normal voucher signed by the employee.
Make a letter to the employee giving details of payment made to settle the liability and get acknowledgement of the employee on it. I think that should suffice

Is Diwali Holidays payable between maternity leave ? Regards, Shobha

In terms of the norms laid down by the Central Government Account (Receipts and Payments) Rules, 1983 no further paperwork is required if the payment is credited to the personal account of the employee.

Hi John
You must be issuing formal payslips to all the employees as a proof of payment of Salary. Payslips are the proof documents which says what kind of salary components you put in 'Earnings' as well as 'Deductions'; based on the kind of role.
Similarly, you can pay the Maternity Benefit to employee in her monthly salary and show this component name in the Payslip for that employee.
