Legality of accumulated el/pl and leave balance lapsing?
Dear sirs i am working in a private ltd company as a h.r.in my company some permanent staff members have their leaves balance as el or pl.at every year end they have their leave balance and previous hr was carry forwarded their leaves in every next year.now the query is they have more than 100 leaves balance on their cards.now what can i do. as per law it is ok or the leaves may lapse after some certain period.plz advice. kiran.

Lapsing of earned leaves
Recently my companygurgaon based telecom company has changed the policy for earned leaves. here is the extract from the policy. to achieve a greater worklife balance employees will now be encouraged to take annual leave to rejuvenate themselves and enhance their quality of life. an employee will continue to be entitled to 25 days of earned leaves in a calendar year which are credited in two equal installments of 12.5 days each in the month of january and july. henceforth earned leaves if unavailed can be accumulated upto a maximum of 30 days. once the maximum limit of 30 days is accumulated 50 of unavailed leave balance as on 31st dec will be encashed and paid alongwith january payroll in the following year and the balance 50 of unavailed leaves will lapse. my question is:is it legal to lapse employees earned leaves?is there any act which supports that? can we challenge it?
Lop when leaves are positives
What is the rule book when an employee has leaves balance can s/he still could get lop if s/he can t apply or regularise for it within stipulated timelines of a specific payroll month? example: mr.a has positive leave balance and took a day off or system showed him absent for half or full day due to some tech issues and he forgets to apply/regularise once back. should s/he still get a lop or things can be deducted from his positive leave balance without his consent.
Hack for paid leaves? if i have a 12-day leave balance and take a 7-day leave starting from 30th december 2022?
I work at a consulting firm and get 22 paid leaves a year on an accrual basis. so my question is if i have a 12day leave balance and take a 7day leave starting from 30th december 2022. are those 7 days deducted from my leave balance for 2022 or 2023? can we use this as a hack to not waste out extra leaves pending at the year s end and enjoy some free time at the start of the year?
Which leaves to be used first while taking leave - comp-off,causal and annual
Hello need help regarding leaves using by the employee as per the new policy by the company. since 26th october 2016 employees working for extended hours should first utilize their comp off leaves. comp offs are granted to employees to compensate and enable them to have rest days for extended working hours they had to perform to fulfill project dependencies. employees therefore shall avail their comp off balance on priority and then accordingly casual and annual leave for the year considerate. so is it valid to to take compoff first and then causal and the annual leaves? is there any law for this policy.
