Salary can be withheld in lieu of notice period?
Dear all please advise if someone leaves during the notice period then what component of salary can be held by company. is it only the basic or the gross salary in lieu of balance notice period ? any legal notification regarding the same. thanks

Hi i have a question regarding the notice period. as per my offer letter its been written that on completion of probabation period i have to give a notice period of 90 days in writting. or company can terminate this contract either by giving 90 days of notice period or inlieu of salary. so my question is i am in the postion where i can serve the notice period for 30 days and buy out the rest of the notice period. and walk off even they are not agreeing on 30 days notice period. will i be getting the relieving letter. please help
Pay during notice period - is it legal to hold salary for 3 months?
Salary of employee is withheld and company says all salary dues will be settled during this is acceptable for 1 months notice period.. if notice period is for 3 months and salary is withheld how can an employee survive without pay? is it legal to hold salary for 3 months? in this case can a employee refuse to serve for 3 months notice period?

Dear friends i received the following q. from one hr person i thought of putting it before all of you to respond: "i have recently joined a mnc. during interview i was asked to join with in a week of offer to which i expressed the inability because i was supposed to serve a notice period of two months. i requested that in case they want me to join immediately; they should pay for my notice period. hr refused to accept because of having no such policy. however being tempted by the co. brand i joined within a week though spoiled the relationship with the previous co. and also lost notice pay. after joiningi came to know that co. was having such a policy of reimbursing the notice pay. i felt cheated. when i asked my senior hr why they told lie to me in interview he smiled and said it was a negotiation game wherein we won and you lost. how do you view this negotiation game by hr?" regds
No salary after resignment for notice period
Subject no salary during notice period i have resigned from my previous employer and given 1 month notice period for relieving. but management relieved me immediately as my nature of job is of highly confedential in nature. now the company is not paying me the salary during my notice period . kindly advice whether i am eligible for salary during my notice period or not and what action further i can do.
Notice period - cannot serve full term but unable to convince manager
Hi my company has notice period of 2 months. i have got a new offer which requires me to join in 1 month so i am not in a position to serve complete notice period. i would be able to serve 1 month notice period. my manager is not ready for any kind of negotiation in terms of money. he wants me to serve 2 months notice. i have already informed about my problems in serving 2 months notice and he is not agreeing. please let me know what can be done in this case. if i serve the notice i would lose my new offer.
