I got an offer from a company and I have accepted the offer. I told them the notice period is for 2 months and offer was generated accordingly which is on October 3rd. However, when I had discussion with my current manager, he asked me to hold of resignation for a month and promised me to relieve by end of September (unfortunately verbal only and I believed him in good faith). however, I submitted the resignation on August, 31st mentioning last working day to be Sept 30th, he accepted it but HR is inflexible on relieving date and asking me to wait till Nov 3rd.
I have communicated all facts it to new employer and HR said they will come back to me. What should I do in this case. Whether new employee will accept the new date? This is for one of the senior position.
