It is surprising that the company with 800+ employees does not know the Law.
Labour Welfare Act is an enacted by State Governments / UTs. About 14 / 15 State Governments /UTs have enacted this Law. Applicability, contribution, frequency of contribution, benefits or welfare schemes etc. are varies every State / UT as per the provisions of respective Law.
Employees working in different States / UTs are subjected to the Law as applicable in the State / UT wherein they are working. It is a common Law.
Accordingly, you need to comply LWF in respect of employees working in different States / UTs as per the Law by respective State / UT wherein they are deployed or working.
Compliance of Professional Tax is also like LWF.
You need to follow Minimum Wage Rate as per the State Law, unless you are not governed by Central Law.
and the fact is that i just joined this company, and i'm the one who told them about the LWF law after checking their previous records, i came to realise that they are not deducting any LWF of any employee & doesn"t even know about this...and i was just not sure about the deposition of state wise, so just wanted to take some expert advice from all of you seniors.
