Dear All I want to know whether Self Help Group (SHG) Federation is taxable/applicable under income tax?
I believe if there is income generated in an organisation through any kind of activities which results in expenses by the group filling of income tax comes to effect. Taxable or not taxable can be determined on the purposes, industry and other related factors. If SHG is a registered group (registered with the Govt) with its own bank account,and an identity is created then it is deemed to be a person in Income tax Dept and will have to file returns like wise.
