Pf calculation - company is calculating pf on basic+da+special allowance
Our company is calculating pf on basicdaspecial allowance. while discussing on this topic with my senior he said "provision if an employees basic da special allowance are less than rs. 15000 then it is mandatory for provident fund to be deducted". referring to the wage defined in the pf act a authorised officer means the central provident fund commissioner additional central provident fund commissioner deputy provident fund commissioner regional provident fund commissioner or such other officer as may be authorised by the central government by notification in the official gazette; b basic wages means all emoluments which are earned by an employee while on duty or on leave or on holidays with wages in either case in accordance with the terms of the contract of employment and which are paid or payable in cash to him but does not include i the cash value of any food concession; ii any dearness allowance that is to say all cash payments by whatever name called paid to an employee on account of a rise in the cost of living houserent allowance overtime allowance bonus commission or any other similar allowance payable to the employee in respect of his employment or of work done in such employment; iii any presents made by the employer; please clear me on this point we have only three components in our salary. basic hra and special allowance.

Hello all i have one query regarding provident fund deduction as per rule of provident fund contribution is from both side 12 from employee & employer that will on basic salary ri8. is there any rule that employeer can deducted both amount from employee salary. as i m working in one of it software pvt ltd company as hr we has to start to deduct provident fund but boss it telling that employee & employer contribution both will be deduct from employees salary.so please any one help me to know the rules of provident funds. thanks himani

Hi i have some question related to provident fund. q1 we are planning to enroll our company with epfo during next month. so can we deduct the provident fund from this month onwards for all employees. q2is it possible to deduct the provident fund contribution in two ways for employees. a 12 of rs6500 i.e rs780 for the employees whose basic pay is above rs 6500. and b if someone s basic salary is less than 6500 then 12 on the lower basic pay can it be calculated on that. pls let me know. thanks naveen.

Hi all i have joined a company recently and the salary they are providing me doesnot include provident fund .. the thing conveyed to me is that there is a provision for this as my basic salary is 9000. is the company allowed to do so thanks & regards abhi
