We are manufacturing Industries in Maharashtra. May we get the clarifications on the following please?
1. If the Employees works on any National or Festival Holiday, what will be the compensation for that?
2. Is there any guide lines provided under any of the act applicable to the Factory.

We are presently providing all US based national holidays, Do we need to make changes in it.

Please quote the Relevant Section and Rule
It is Like this If he is Not Required or Called by the Employer he need not come but will be entitled to WAGES for that day.
If he is called but refuses to attend then he is not eligible to WAGES at all for that day. There is a Leading MADRAS HIGH COURT JUDGMENT The Court upheld the view of the Petitioner Management that in as much as he had not fulfilled the conditions of employment he has no right to claim wages for the National Holiday Madura Mills vs Its workmen
Third please read the Section -- If a workman is required to work on the Holiday he is entitled to Holiday on another day with wages or double the wages , of his choice.

Hi Madam,
1. I want to how many national paid holidays are mandatory for Pvt Ltd company in Maharashtra.
2. At that time any holiday comes in weekly off/(Thursday or Sunday), that time it can compensate or lapse.
3. Which act or legal notification is consider/applicable for Paid holidays.

Dear All,
In the year 2020, the mandatory holidays such as Republic Day, Independence Day or Gandhi Jayanthi falls on Sunday, should the holiday be compensated or company can provide an another optional Holiday.
Please let me know if the above scenario occurs, what would be the alternate option or let me know company can provide Holiday for selected Festivals.

Is there a Gazette one could refer to to Confirm that only these Republic day, Labor Day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti are the compulsory holidays?
I'm new in the HR department and all the office employees are pushing me to change policy regarding leaves, even though i know they are only trying to pressurize me as a newcomer.
Would really appreciate all help i can get on this matter.

Please let me know if 8 is minimum number of holidays, included 4 compulsory and 4 public holidays.
Now, we are mumbai based IT company and 5days working. if few compulsory holidays fall on Saturday and Sunday then how to make calendar.
MGT doesn't want to give more than 8days holidays including Saturday and Sunday.
