An employee of ours has a total salary (Basic+DA+Others) of Rs. 16,000/-. Is it compulsory for us to pay PF and ESI for this employee.
From India, Mysore
Dear Concern,
The PF Limit is 15000 Rs/-, it means if his Basic +Da is below 15000 then it is mandate to deduct the PF on the salary but if His Basic+Da is More than 15000 then the employer is not liable to deducting the P.F.
Hope that you are cleared now on this

Get the provisions of PF act very clear.
And this has been discussed many times in this forum. If you had searched, you would get the details.
Exemption for PF is only applicable for employees who have joined the company at a salary with basic and da above ₹15,000 per month and not having any existing PF account at the time of joining. For everyone else, PF is payable, even if his salary has crossed the limit

Most of all Form 11 has to be filled in by every employee who joins new org. Employee is not allowed to withdraw amount. Once a PF member you continue to be member even if your PF salary exceeds 15000. Org is not bound to deduct PF on salary I'm excess of Rs 15000. Hence the org may decide to deduct PF only on 15000.

I am employed and basic salary is 25000/- and PF is being deducted @12%ie 3000/- as my contribution and my employer is also deducting Rs.3000/-. The employer has now notified me that their contribution would be as per PF act ie max 1800/- PM and also says he would reduce my contribution to 1800/-. Whether the same is to notified to EPFO office or any declaration to be taken from me and submitted to PF authorities. Please guide.
