Recently, I have joined a company, who are dealing with Bath Fittings, Tiles, Ready made Kitchens, Wooden Floors. They have two big warehouses. Though company is 21 years old, still the work process is not up to the mark, Actual their is no strong system. Please Help me in:
1) Kindly help me creating SOP's for Warehouse.
2) Help me to provide JD's for Warehouse Team. Accordingly, How many members should be there, up to what level. I want to check the Manpower cost as well.
3) Up to what time items should be in stock, When would be the alarming situation if the items are old enough.

Warehousing playing major role in Supply Chain Management (SCM). Poor warehousing pull down the efficiency of the supply chain.
To design the SOPs, first one needs to understand the system and process of your warehouse. Secondly, we must design the measures to monitor the efficiency of the warehouse. Based on the measures of performance of the warehouse, we have to design Job Description (JD), SOP, individual measures of performance etc.
Mere having access to some other warehouse's SOPs is not sufficient. You need to hire some consultant to design the SOPs. In fact, I am going to conduct public workshop on Warehouse Management across India in the month of June and July 2016. Nevertheless, at this stage, a day's training is not sufficient for you to develop SOPs.
