Dear Abhik,

Some basic tips to get your resume seen and noticed.

The average time spent by recruiters looking at a resume: 5 to 7 seconds.

76% of resumes are discarded for an unprofessional email address.

88% rejection rate when you include a photo on your resume.

In 2000, 22% of resumes were submitted via email or posted on the web. In 2015, over 93% of resumes are now posted online or sent via email.

Applicant Tracking Software, the robots that read your resume, are able to quickly eliminate 75% of the applicants.

Resume with Colored Fonts or tables embedded have high chances of rejection.

Suppose you were reviewing resumes would you :-

Respond to a candidate who writes "PFA" , "FYI", "Please check", "Reply ASAP", and attach his / her resume.

Would you consider a candidate who has forwarded the application he sent to other companies, and of course the name date and address are in trail mails .

Or a candidate who has sent you a resume which was updated in 2014 and has applied in 2016.

More funny things that candidate do to get rejected :-

Attach a crop image from some fancy function

Find addresses of all companies in cc where candidate has applied

Pasting a url which contains his / her application
