I was working with a very small company and when i resigned my boss was not happy. He took it on personal level and did not gave me relieving letter or experience letters.
No during verification process of new employer, They said I have broken all the policies of company and hence we are not proving verification.
Please note, I did not even have salary slips (they did not even exist) I was being paid by cheque.
Ex employer has to say that I have broken all the policies but I have really not broken it.
How do I deal with situation ? This keeps me troubling if I want to switch my job.

Some more information:
There was clause "Restrictive Covenant":
Upon separation from the employment with company for any reason whatsoever, you shall not accept employment or association with any organization engaged in the sale or service of products and services, which are either same or similar to those of this company for the period of three months from the date of such separation.
I believe such clause cannot be imposed as per law, does someone have more information please.
