Dear Vrushali,
Whenever a new individual joins, you should follow the following to induct him in your organization.
Firstly introduce him to all the employees in the organization (If it’s a Corporate) and If it’s a large organization then probably to the employees who are at the senior level and also to those who are handling the Vital roles like the IT Helpdesk,Travel Desk,Admin and HR etc.
Then deliver a induction programme for them. The Induction PPT may contain the following :-
1.A brief about the organization and its functions
2.A brief about the various functions at that location
3.The organizations culture, cliamte and its core values
4.How a new entrant is adjusted in this culture
5.New entrant’s career and growth plan
6.New entrant’s roles and responsibilities
7.Expectations of the organization from the new entrant
Once this has been done his reporting officer and the Dept Head should devote few hours with him
Then a meeting can be arranged with a HR Head
As a warm gesture the HR can order lunch for him and the HR rep and the Dep rep can accompnay him.If possible the HR head and the Dept head may give him company.
All this should be done in the first day itself. You can arrange it like the following :-
One hour introduction in the morning
Two-Three hours induction PPT (In this you can ask the various Dept Heads to speak on their dept for 10 mins each)
The above two should be over by lunch.
After Lunch,You can arrange the meeting with the Dept and HR.
As far as your second question goes, the training programmes can be arranged either internally or the employees maybe nominated for the external programmes. In case of the internal programmes the faculty maybe internal or External (Lot of trainers are available through net)
Hope it answers both your questions.
