I have a contractual term employment of 1 year with my employer which is extendable every year. I am pregnant and my contract is getting over in the same month as the due date. Pls let me know in case I can claim maternity beyond the contract date.

What is the terms & conditions of your contract under maternity. If there is nothing, then you need to claim for the same before expiry of contract.
On other hand if your claiming the same after expiry of contract then you not eligible to get any benefits under maternity.
