How to deal with the absconding of employees? I think nowadays it has become a serious issue in almost every industry especially in IT firms.

In my view there is no point chasing an absconding employee. It is as elusive as the mirage in a desert. You will be wasting your time and energy in it.Find out the reasons as to why employees are disappearing from your office. Is it low salaries? or lack of motivation? or bad boss? or office politics? After figuring out the reasons, try to address them. Take all precautions at the time of recruitment itself to identify fence sitters and serious job seekers.Probably you may have to re-look at your compensation design to hire and retain true job seekers.Try to follow a policy and establish a tradition which ensures mutual respect and trust for the employer and the employee so that the employees follow the agreed policy of separation like giving notice etc.use your on-boarding process to build sound relationship with the employees and see whether they need the help of mentors. There is no magic pill that can thrust down the throats of employees to bind them to an organisation in the current scenario..
