An employee was absent for an extended period, with permission.
She exhausted all her leave balances, and then was on loss of pay leave.
Now, she has submitted her resignation, and has to be relieved officially.
What is the relieving date to mentioned on the letter? I recollect that in response to a similar query, the learned seniors had suggested that the date from which her loss-of-pay leave started should be mentioned as her date of relieving, but the relieving letter is to be of the current date.
Though I have searched for the post, I am unable to locate it again.
Please help me by providing the proper sentence that is to be used in the relieving letter to explain the discrepancy in dates.

What does your company policy say. Don't you have a notice period in your company to serve? Yes, considering that this employee is unwell and cannot continue to work and if you are relieving her from her duties, it has to be from the day she went on leave OR from the day her LOP started. Consult with the seniors in your company before executing the same. If you don't have one, then do as what comes in best interest.

Thanks for your response.
My query is not related to relieving, nor is it about serving of notice period.
The employee has separated amiably and on the best of terms.
My query is with regards to the wording of the relieving letter that is to be issued, such that it reflects both dates - date of commencement of LOP and date of removing of name from employee rolls.
Awaiting your opinion.

Dear, as the employee availed leave with prior permission from the the authorised person, even though employee has no leave in his /her account and in the time if he/she resigned , then the last working day should be the last date of his /her leave
