I am a B-Tech graduate completed my course in 2012 and since I had back papers, I cleared and passed the degree in 2014. So my question is when I go for job interview or while filling interview form, they ask for graduation year, In my case what should I write in that column 2012 or 2014? I am very much confused. Pls help me.
I wonder why the confusion, as you passed and completed the degree only in 2014!! That’s the year of your graduation.
Since you have cleared all your papers in 2014 only your graduation is from 2014 only, though you completed your course in 2012.

Dear friend,

I could not guess what has triggered to cause this confusion in you. I'll put it this way, till your 11th standard, if you don't pass all the papers you are "detained" as failed in the very same class. In other words unless you pass all the papers from 1st std to 10th std you cannot get promoted to the next std. like I std to 2nd std and so on and reach 11th std. In 11th std also you have to pass all the papers (in some institutions practically, those who don't pass all the papers of 11th std also pushed to 12th std.) When anyone don't pass all the papers in 12th std declared as failed and "detained" at home till pass all the papers. You'll have to choice of continuing the very same course. Once clear all the arrears then gets "eligible" to go to degree or diploma etc. In all these you only will say passed or failed (detained). Whereas in UG/PG except in some courses there is no detention but pushed to the next year. And if does not clear/pass all the papers but complete 4/5 years of the course then you are considered "course completed but failed" Only when "pass" all the papers including the last one/practicals/internship etc. you get the graduation certificate which is the "Year of Graduation". I hope this is clear to you.

Your have to write your clearance year which is 2014. You are passed year 2012 but you have completed engineering in 2014.
