I want to know if the minimum wage act depends on the employees location/region or employer's region? My company's HQ is in Gujarat but the employee joins in another location so should we consider Gujarat's wage or Bangalore?
Dear Rashi Dave,
Jurisdiction for any legal purpose depends only on the place of work of the employee. Whatever be the head-quarters of the Company, the wages should be paid at the minimum rates of wages fixed for the location/region in which the place of work falls.

If, contractual/outsourced, Data Entry Operator (D.E.O.)/Stenographer, working in various Ministries/Departments does not comes under the Scheduled Employments, so why, Central Govt. paid them Minimum wages, accordingly, NCT of Delhi, and why every time Central Govt. give the tender as per Low Bid accordingly, NCT of Delhi?
