Hello Everybody,

I just stumbled across this website, and boy, am I glad I did! This is like HR heaven for someone who is very passionate about HR; I feel like a kid in a candy store. Lol...

Anyway, coming back to the point of this post. I am interested in helping to conduct psychometric testing and was wondering if any of you knew where I could get more info on conducting such tests? I currently work as an HR specialist, and my organization is looking to conduct psychometric testing for new candidates. Basically, I wanted to know if there is a specific qualification for psychometric testing.

Thanks!

Dear Akbar, Namaskar. Hearty welcome to you. To be a psychometrician you need to have at least masters degree in psychology with specialisation in psychometry/mental measurement. regards, Jogeshwar

Hmm... okay. I have a master's degree in Human Resources and was wondering how I could enhance my skills. So, do HR professionals use the services offered by psychometric professionals to conduct tests? I assumed that HR managers know how the tests are evaluated.

Thanks! Misha

Hi,

I think apart from having a degree in psychology, you can also get trained under some consultancies like Banjara Group, Mai-Foi, etc. I think that training would help you. I have attended a training program on psychometric testing at a place called Human Resource Centre.

Hello Ms. Akbar!

"Psychometric testing" is, and at least can be, a rather vast area of different methodologies.

I have no degree in psychology; therefore, I have settled for personality profiling tools. Depending on your specific needs, I would recommend that you take a good look at the following tools:

Profiles International at Human Resource Management & Employment Assessment Solutions | Profiles International MBTI at https://www.citehr.com/169738-mbti-trainig.html WOPI at www.wopi.net DiSC at Inscape Publishing - The World’s Leader Provider of DiSC Solutions Hogan at 12 Questions to Ask When Choosing a Personality Assessment System | Hogan Assessments [i]<link updated to site home></i] (Search On Cite | Search On Google)

MBTI is a classic, as quite many other tools are based on the same C.G. Jung's personality theory.

Should you want more detailed comments on the different tools and the applications I have found useful - do not hesitate to post a question or e-mail me directly.

Yours,

-TKr

If anybody has a master's degree in Psychology, they are qualified enough to use most of the psychometric tools. The rest comes from experience. Alternatively, to compensate for lack of experience, one can undergo a training program on the subject.
