I am working in an manpower consultancy as Junior Manager and drawing a consolidated salary of Rs 20,000/- . Till date they have not issued me any salary slip and never disclosed the salary structure therefore I have no Idea about my basic salary etc. I just want to know as per the latest rule of PF contribution, is it mandatory to for my organisation to deduct PF from salary or not?
It is mentioned in the revised EPF rule ( in effect from Sep 2014) that EPF is mandatory for employees whose salary is less than Rs15,000/-. please tell this Rs 15000/- refers to basic salary or gross salary??

Dear Rupesh
The provisions of the EPF and MP Act, 1952 are applicable upon all such employees whose basic salary is upto Rs. 15000/- per month (as per latest notification). If you are drawing the equal and below the maxium ceiling as basic salary, obviously you will be considered as a member of the EPF Scheme otherwise will be treated as an exempted employee but in that situation, Management has to obtained Form no 11 (New) from you.

Dear Rupesh,
An employee whose basic, DA and food allowance if any, is within Rs.15000.00 falls under the purview of EPF. As far as your case is concerned you are drawing consolidated salary Rs.20000.00 in this case I would like to know wheather you are covered under ESIC or not for further suggesstion.
