I am working as HR executive in an IT firm, i have only 6 Months of experience & i am the first and only HR in this firm - our firm have only 50 employees. I want to do something very innovative and involving no cost.
The people who work here are very conservative, so what i want is some great idea from you guys. Please help.
I have tried Company social site they say no .
I wanted to have an software wherein every employee can store all their information and can stay always connected with the management. Getting real time information through that. They say no.
What to do........ Its confusing (Everything involves money)

I can understand your frustration. To bring a change one has to invest. However, there is no defining line that divides investment and expenditure. It depends on how one looks at it.
What is the manpower attrition level in your company? Try calculating the attrition and then propose management how to bring cost of attrition down. To bring down this cost, again some expenditure is essential however, hopefully management will agree for this.
How many departments do you have? How many projects are going on? In my trainings, I conduct the simulation on how to generate ideas for the cost-cutting. Again the training will have cost. Therefore, check with management whether they are ready to spend money for the generation of cost-cutting ideas.

Hi Ganesh,
Here are few games & ideas....
. Dress code on Christmas(preferably Red & White). And u can always add a condition to it. People who don't stick to the dress code need to pay a fine of 10 to 50 bucks....And we can use this fund collected for any donation to NGO. It will be real fun...
2. Ask Staff Members to get all old clothes,stationery and other stuff which can be collected and then distributed among the needy....
3.Best Workstation Decoration on Christmas is again a real good idea....
4.Apart from that we can also organize Health Check up....like Diabetes camp, Eye camp, Dental Check up etc... There are a lot of organizations which sponsor these for free, and there would be absolutely no cost involved....
5.We can also have an Apprecia Board where Staff members can post apprecia chits about any staff member, they would like to...

Dear Member,
You may anchor few games like fish in the pounds, dumb charades, movies name guess (using chits), or with some minor expenses dart board, carom board, chess, etc.
You have to be proactive and need to take initiate and organize successful event then may be your management may approve some budget for the same. At initial stage you need to go with No Cost games only.
Yo may celebrate birthdays (contributing for cakes/snacks) and invite individual's school friends or family member so that it would be a great surprise for them.

Hi Ganesh,
In addition to above, u may think of some Cultural Activies on the Occasion of Festivals as well Foundation Day of ur Company. No doubt initially u will involve few employees to work as a Team but slowly more creative ideas suiting to the Work Culture can be evolved.
The day will not be far off when noticeable change will be seen in the Employees due to these wonderful Activities.
