Dear Amit,
I have few doubts in ESI registration..
1.Whether we can register through ESI portal and get an temporary ID card number for employees. INSTEAD OF manually filling in FORM-01 for registering and EMPLOYEES declaration form submission directly to ESI department. Let me know the complete ESI process registering though portal.
2. We are planning to cover only Housekeeping ,driver and security in ESI act and total number will come around 5.Because other employees we have covered in private health insurance and accident insurance. Is this act should be minimum 10 above will be covered.
3.When the employees basic salary increases more than 15,000,it is mandatory to terminate the ESI as per act or we can continue in ESI.
Thanks in advance
nagaraj

1. Sir, you can get your unit covered under ESI Act, 1948 as per online procedure laid down by ESIC. For online procedure, you can seek the guidance from website of ESIC or contact the appropriate Social Security Officer/Regional/Sub /Divisional Office of ESIC of your area.
2.Once the unit is covered under said Act all employees, which are getting wages upto Rs. 15000/- per month are required to be covered under said Act. There is no option in this regard.
3. If the wages of any covered employee exceeds Rs.15000/- per month, then from the start of next contribution period, the said employee will not be eligible for coverage under said Act. Coverage under ESI Act, 1948 is statutory and not optional.
