Dear Collegues
ESI Act is not applicable at our Plant & accordingly, we have covered our own workers under Group Personal Accident Policy.
In case of any sudden liability on account of any mis-happening, the compensation is to be paid by the employer to legal heir through the Commissioner & Insurance company will reimbursed the compensation amount to the company. Since we don't covered under EC Policy, company will have to pay compensation amount to workers from his pocket.
As far as my knowledge, benefits under ESI are as per Employee Compensation Policy, whereas GPA policy cover benefits as per their standard terms and conditions.
Please advise on the above matter whether we should take WC or continue with GPA.
