logically you are wrong. how can you can predict your sickness. in some companies they will not sanction sick leave in advance as the type of leave requires only information over phone or mail.

Dear Brijlal,
It is totally illogical thing, How could you predict the future that you are going to ill on so & so date??
The sick leave can only be avail after leave not before or in advance.
You can inform about the leave on the same day or one day before not after availing the leave.
Thanks

If an operation is scheduled after 10-15 days on any specific day/s then what leave he/she should apply for..

Probably he means, whether the employee can avail SL against future accrual ( not having SL balance on the date of availing leave)

It is true that you cannot predict illness in advance, eg flu, accident, broken arm, appendicitis, etc, as these are random things that can occur any time of day or night.
However, if you have an ongoing condition, your doctor may decide that you need an operation to rectify the problem. In that case you can ask for sick leave in advance. You know definitely when you are going to hospital, and will have an approximate idea of the time you will need for the hospital stay and recuperation.
The OP did not give enough information to give members the opportunity of making a proper assessment of the question.
