Could any one help me how to do performance appraisal in a company,recruitment strategies, payroll in excel with all formulas since i am new to my job as an HR in a company.

I would like to give you a little insight into what an HR department would be.

Being into HR department you have to maintain files about the employees with their

1.Job Application form,

2.Bio-data form,


4.Appointment order,

5.Form 34 in a complete set.

Apart from that you should have

1.Employee Time card

2.Employee Job Description,

3.Employee attendance & Leave files,

4.Employee salary slips,

5.EPF & ESI files,Leave policy.

Coming to your question, for Performance appraisal & recruitment strategies there are different methods, choose that one that suits your company and based on your state.(Study the available methods first and then go for it.)

For Payroll, you should learn about ESI and EPF.

Employee State Insurance and Employee Provident Fund there are contributions to be done by both the employee and employer.

1. ESI - Employee 1.75% on Gross Pay

2. ESI - Employer - 4.75% on Gross Pay

3. EPF -both Employer and employee 12% on Basic.

There are divisions in EPF. Read the first line.
