Dear Professionals,
I am working as an HR Executive in an IT company, We have registered few employees with ESI but a few of them got increment from March, 2015 and their revised salary crossed Rs. 15,000 /- per month. So how can I notify to ESI corporation about their increment salary as now these employees are not in the category to pay ESI.
Kindly help me out to do the required procedure.

Where an employee crosses wage ceiling during any contribution period, his contribution is supposed to be paid till the completion of concerned contribution period, though he has crossed the wage ceiling.
Hello Nathrao Sir,
Thanks for your valuable reply. Actually he has paid ESI till 31st March and I think now there is no need to pay further. I just want to know about the process that how I can show his increased salary to ESI Corporation so that no further deductions made from his salary.
Regards,
Navjot Kaur

Dear Navjot,
Can you be more specific. If the increment was made effective from March'15....there is no deduction required from April onwards. If you have deducted ESI and paid salary for April....then continue deduction till Sep'15 post which you can stop deducting.

Murali

You dont need to inform ESI about this. When you send your monthly returns, there would be a column featuring wages paid and contributions paid. It would be taken into account by ESI when there is a change in salaries.
Dear Navjot,Y
As suggested earlier, if the gross salary is increased to 15000 from March 15 onwards then no need to deduct ESI in April 15, you can show this while preparing your ESI challan for April 15, wherein there is a specific code number for this line item, which states that the member is out of esi coverage from this month onwards. You can use this code and from May onwards his name will not appear in the ESI contribution list
Thanks & Regards
