I am Naresh from India, I went to UAE on Employment Visa after 6 month of work, i came back on some emergency work to india and didnt go back. And I informed to my company to cancel my visa by out of country asap. And They asked to send them copy of passport with stamp of entry and exit. And after 3 month of my exit from UAE, my company called me that they need my original passport urgently to cancel my visa, so that they can use my visa for New employee.
And Sir, I dont want to send my passport to them, i am afraid that they might not return me back my passport.
Please guide me that it is necessary to send my original passport for cancellation of my employment visa? As per current UAE labour law.
Or there is some other way to cancel my visa without sending my original passport

I am not expert in this matter. But on logical thinking and on the basis of something I read, my say is as under:

Cancellation of employment visa is done by employee through employer / sponsor with in stipulated time on cancellation of employment card and before leaving the country.

You came back on emergency work. Generally, Gulf countries do not permit leave on emergency but your employer permitted it seems to be a special case. You did not go back. You are in breach of contract. You are in breach of law.

But still your company is asking you to submit your original passport which is must to endorse of cancellation of visa. Your company is willing to settle your account. You should immediately submit your passport in original. The company will ask you to sign certain forms from you such as cancellation of employment card, no dues certificate, application for cancellation of visa etc.

I may be completely wrong. You are advised to contact any immigration expert or approach Embassies and Consulates.

Thanks a lot Mr. Korgaonkar K A. Will try to take some other opinion also. As in my case they granted special leave because i also done many things for my company, i done some impossible things as well for them.
One needs to be careful about submitting passport in original.
What will the person do if company withholds the pssport?
After all person has left without notice and after giving excuse of emergency,the company may be feeling cheated by the employees action.
Consult suitable people on this aspect.
